Life after BCG...
BCG's success relies on its people and, no matter how long they stay with us, they never totally cut their ties with BCG. Whether they leave to start their own businesses, take up positions in leading corporations, or pursue other dreams outside the business world, they stay in touch with the firm and each other through our worldwide alumni network.

...Sittichai Matanachai - Deputy Director at Telecom Asia:
"I didn't realise before that what I learnt at BCG could be very useful for my future careers. The industry knowledge and business judgment gained at BCG enabled me to effectively identify strategic areas and solve problems in the company.
The thing I miss most about BCG is its people. I made friends with lots of great people, many of whom are still very close friends. I was also exposed to the well-connected, highly effective international network that is unique to BCG".
Sittichai is now the Deputy Director at Telecom Asia.

...Ooi Joon Aun - Vice President, Strategy & Business Practices, InterContinental Hotels Group (Asia Pacific):
Joon Aun started his career with BCG Kuala Lumpur in 1994, when he took a position as a summer intern while he was still an MBA student at Stanford University.
"Honestly, at that point, I knew very little about management consulting, just bits and pieces gathered from classmates at business school. My summer stint was great, in that it exposed me to the consulting industry and provided me with a real hands-on experience with BCG. I had little hesitation in signing on full-time with BCG shortly after the summer".
During his 6 years with BCG, Joon Aun took on the role of Recruiting Director for BCG Kuala Lumpur.
"The recruiting responsibility was enriching! It feels great to have played a significant role in growing the office from approximately 15 consulting staff to around 40 by 2001."
Joon is now the Vice President, Strategy & Business Practices, InterContinental Hotels Group (Asia Pacific)

...Susan - Founder, Biru:
"I joined BCG's Jakarta office in 1997 after earning my BBA from Boston University. While I already had a strong desire to "do something in the fashion industry", I realised I would need solid business experience before starting my own company. I chose consulting because it enables you to learn about various industries in a short time and forces you to put yourself in the shoes of the senior managers who actually run these businesses.
In 1999 I left to launch Biru, which designs and manufactures up-market handbags in a variety of fabrics. Biru is now established in high-end boutiques in Jakarta, Singapore, and Hong Kong, and I'm masterminding our entry into the US and Australian markets. BCG gave me the confidence and courage to start this business and the skills to make it work. The fashion industry is extremely dynamic and competitive, so if you want to last a long time, you better know how to carve out and defend your unique niche".

...Anurag Maheshwari - Director Asia Pacific, Carrier Corporation
BCG has provided me with a great platform for my new challenge at Carrier. The exposure to multiple industries, projects and clients has enriched my problem solving, people management and execution skills which I am able to effectively use at Carrier.
You can never leave BCG because it is a family and you make life long friends and colleagues here. There is no such 'BCG person' as every individual is very different from each other but, at the same time, have lots of common qualities: fun loving, hardworking, client focused and more importantly, a team player.
