BCG is dedicated to finding and retaining people who can make a difference to our clients and to our firm. Our philosophy of "promote when ready" allows our professional staff to make great strides very quickly, moving to new levels of responsibility approximately every 2 years. The time between promotions is somewhat longer at the Project Leader and Principal levels, since tenure is one critical ingredient of experience at these levels. Strong support from colleagues is part of the BCG experience. Every consulting staff member has a mentor who assists him or her in identifying and developing the skills and attributes needed to progress through the firm. Regular feedback on performance means that skills and abilities are developed systematically. Weaknesses or gaps are eliminated through targeted training.
