Clearly defined career path

The BCG career path is merit-based and recognises that depending on background, experience and skill development, different people will take different times to master the performance hurdles for the next promotion. Our "promotion philosophy" means that those colleagues who master the required skills quickly can achieve early promotion to the next level.

Entry Level

Most people start at BCG as Associates or Consultants. Your skills and experience determine which role is right for you. Most of our Associates are recent university or college graduates. Senior Associates generally have some experience in professional fields, but do not necessarily have direct business experience.

A BCG Consultant's résumé will generally include an MBA from a leading business school, an advanced degree in a field such as economics or organisational behaviour, or extensive business or technical experience in a cutting-edge field like information technology.

We look for a combination of impressive credentials and savoir-faire. At BCG, Associates and Consultants deepen their understanding of business and strategic issues, exercise a passion for critical thinking, refine their interpersonal skills, and deepen their capacity for disciplined analysis.

Use the diagram to understand where you might fit by comparing the education and experience that matches your background. If you're still uncertain, contact one of our offices to discuss your questions with a member of our recruiting team.
